Macy’s Black Friday 2020 Sale – What to Expect

Updated on Tuesday November 10, 2020: Macy’s Black Friday 2020 ad is officially released! Scroll down the page to view all 50+ pages and to see this year’s start/end dates, both online and in-stores. Happy bargain hunting!

Confirmed 2020 Start & End Dates

In normal times, Macy’s always lets you shop their Black Friday sale at and in stores starting on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. The only exceptions were a handful of doorbuster offers, usually including the “free-after-rebate” deals found on the front page of their ad, that were only available in stores on Thursday itself.

However, the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has changed everything around this year. Macy’s has decided to adjust their typical Black Friday sales schedule this year to accommodate social distancing rules that are currently in place in many cities and states across the country. Here’s are the confirmed sale start and end dates:

  • Early BF Preview deals start date: Monday November 16, 2020 in stores and online.
  • Confirmed main start date: Tuesday November 24, 2020 (that’s 2 days before Thanksgiving), in-stores and online.
  • Confirmed end date: Saturday November 28, 2020 or while supplies last.

Keep in mind that all Macy’s stores will be closed for the entire day on Thursday, Thanksgiving day (November 26, 2020) as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic. That follows the trend that we’re seeing this year as many other stores and malls/outlets will also be closed this year on Thanksgiving day.

Our Favorite Deals for 2020

We’ve been tracking Macy’s Black Friday sale for several years and have a general sense to the offers they usually run. Here’s what you should be on the lookout for this Thanksgiving weekend:

  • Small Appliances — When you think Macy’s, think KitchenAid. Not only can you expect mixer deals on Artisan, Pro and Classic models but also on KitchenAid accessories like the meat grinder and slicer attachments. They also had the Keurig K-Select K80 on sale for $79.99 and Ninja Pro Blender on sale for $69.99. Generally, last year all coffee makers, blenders and juicers were 20% off with an extra 20% off applied at checkout.
  • Home Cleaning — If it’s time to replacing your aging corded vacuums with a sleek, new, lightweight battery operated vacuum then Black Friday is when to do it. Last year Macy’s had all Dyson vacuums at $100 to $200 off the list price. You also had the Shark Rocket cordless vacuum on sale for $149.99 and nice little Black & Decker handheld vacuum on sale for just $9.99 after rebate. And for those of you that hate cleaning up after yourselves, the wi-fi enabled Shark Ion robot vacuum was on sale for $179.99 (compare to the iRobot Roomba).
  • Home Decor — With the holidays approaching, Macy’s has pages of deals on Christmas ornaments, tableware, scented candles and other home decor. Last year some of the highlighted specials included 60% off on Moose Munch candles (comparable to Woodwick and Yankee Candle), 60% off select ornaments (although not on the famous Swarovski Christmas ornaments), and up to 70% off on Oneida silverware sets (comparable to Mikasa dinnerware sets). We also liked their Villeroy & Boch New Wave & French Garden tableware collections from last year that were up to 60% off.
