Hi! My name is Witold (pronounced "vee-told") and I am the founder of BlackerFriday.com. After many years working in corporate america, I decided it was time to take a break to pursue my real passion — helping people save money. Ever since I was a little boy selling pencils in the playground to my kindergarden friends, later collecting aluminum cans from all my neighbors in elementary school to support my baseball card addiction, eventually becoming an eBay Power Seller in my older years to support my college education, I had an eye for spotting deals. I’ve taken what I have learned over the years and built Blacker Friday to bring you the best Black Friday rumors, predictions, and news website. Fortunately I'm not alone in this - We have a great team of dedicated folks helping make this site possible. If you would like to connect with me you can do so on my Linkedin page, on our site’s Facebook page, or write me an email. Thanks for checking us out and I look forward to hearing from you!

FAQ’s

How to Save on TurboTax with your Credit Card

Besides the deals posted above, you can often save an extra few bucks more when you use a qualifying credit card at checkout when paying for your TurboTax software. We recommend logging into your online account for your favorite card and seeing if they have an extra percentage or fixed discount when using the card for your TurboTax purchase.

For example, let’s say you have a Cash Back Discover Card. Most cards offer 1% to 5% back on purchases. But when you login to your online Discover Card account, be on the lookout for a rewards or offers sections for additional savings from TurboTax. We’ve noticed that many of the larger banks and financial institutions have teamed up with TurboTax this season to offer even greater perks when using a qualified card.

When’s this Year’s Tax Deadline?

You’ll have until Tuesday, April 15, 2026 at 11:59PM your local time to file your 2025 federal tax return and make any necessary payments for taxes owed to the IRS. If you’re granted a tax extension then you’ll have until October 15, 2026 to file.

But with that said, if you’re anticipating a tax refund thais year then it’s probably a good idea to not wait until the last minute the file. That’s because the faster you send in your return then the faster you’ll receive any tax refunds owed to you.

Which Version of TurboTax Should I Choose?

If your tax situation is unusual and you’re not certain as to the version of TurboTax software to use, then you can always start with the lowest “free” version. That’s because the software will either way guide you — step by step — to the correct one to use based on the individual information that you provide.

Do I need to apply a promo code to activate my TurboTax discount?

No you don’t. That’s because all of offers posted above already have the appropriate discount codes embedded in the links; just click through and you’ll see the offer applied to your purchase. This is typical of TurboTax.

What’s a TurboTax “Service Code”?

If you decide to work through your tax return this year using the online version of TurboTax (the most popular option for most folks) you’ll notice a “service code” box once you approach checkout. The naming is confusing, but it’s just an area where you can enter a code if one was given to you from Intuit’s customer support team. From a case to case basis, their team sometimes issues codes to customers to either track a purchase back to a support agent or to apply a make-good price adjustment.

What other offers are available from TurboTax?

We here at Blacker Friday are working around the clock to track all of the most popular offers available this tax season. However, there are other offers available out there, most notably for select banking and financial institution customers.

For example, if you’re an American Express card holder then you can login to your online account and very this week’s available offers. The same goes for any of your other banking accounts, i.e. Bank of America, Citibank, Wells Fargo, etc.. These offers tend to come and go — usually not available all tax-season long— and will vary depending on what type of customer you care (corporate, individual, high-wealth, etc.). It’s worth taking a look into your account to see if there is anything special available.

Which version of TurboTax should I choose?

If you’re filing a joint tax return, have multiple investments or W2 forms coming in, then it can be overwhelming when choosing with version of TurboTax to choose. You don’t want to start off a higher version than needed because not only is it not needed and more expensive to purchase, but also hard to downgrade as you’ll need to start over if switching to a lower version.

That’s why we recommend starting off with the lowest versions of TurboTax online… and that’s the “free” versions. Once you start filling out your return and adding your tax forms and income information, the program will guide you to the correct version of the software as you go along.

When’s this year’s tax deadline?

This year you’ll have up until Tuesday, April 15, 2026 to file your federal tax return and pay any taxes you owe or to file a tax extension. If you are granted a tax extension then you’ll have until October 15, 2026 to file, but you will still need to pay any estimated taxes owed by this deadline in order to avoid any late fees or interest charges.

When is the tax filing deadline this year?

This year you’ll have up until 11:59PM your local time on Tuesday, April 15, 2026 to file your federal tax return and October 15, 2026 for extended filings. If you’re sending your taxes by mail then many post offices will be open late in order to accommodate your tax return. If you’re sending it out electronically (e-file), then recommend not waiting until the last minutes to file. However, if you do file a day or two late… then the late fees aren’t usually to bad (last fees and interest charges are calculated based on how late you file).

I’m an Uber driver, can I use TurboTax?

As an Uber driver you’re considered as self-employed (you’re not on Uber’s permanent payroll). TurboTax is already made to accommodate Uber drivers when you use their Self-Employed Home & Business versions.

What’s a TurboTax Service Code?

Once it’s time to complete your TurboTax order, you’ll see a section where you can enter an optional “service code”. If you have one then you can enter it, but it’s not needed unless you received one from a TurboTax support agent. They are usually given out for either order tracking or to apply a discount. But because all the discounts we currently have don’t require a service code, you can leave this area blank.

I made a mistake but I’ve already filed.

No worries, TurboTax lets you amend your already-filed tax return. You’ll find the link to amend your return within your online TurboTax account.

Do I need a computer to use TurboTax?

One of the benefits of TurboTax Online is that you can work on and complete your tax return from any internet-connected device, no software installation is required. So that means you can use your iPhone, Tablet, etc., to file your return. On the other hand, if you decide to purchase a TurboTax Desktop version, then you will only be able to use the software on the machine that you’ve chosen to install the software on.
