2017:

Updated on Thursday, November 16, 2017: Black Friday is right around the corner and we’re once again tracking all of the latest deals on Playstation VR coming over Thanksgiving weekend. And although we didn’t see any deals last year (after all, it was just released before Thanksgiving in Nov. 2016), we’re starting to see them coming in now. Here’s what we were able to confirm:

— Gamestop: You can expect to see Gamestop packed when doors open in the afternoon on Thanksgiving day after just one look at their Black Friday ad — The deals are that good! Among the featured doorbusters you’ll find the Playstation VR bundle on sale for $299.99. All other PSVR headsets are $100 off with sale prices as low as $199.99. Shop deals officially go live on Thursday, Thanksgiving day, at gamestop.com and in-stores when doors open at 4:00PM (Nov. 23, 2017).

— Dell: Dell Home has the PlayStation VR Headset and camera bundle, with Turismo Sport included, featured in their Black Friday ad for $299.99 (normally it’s $399.99). The sale begins early on Thanksgiving day (November 23, 2017) and runs through Saturday morning (officially ends November 25, 2017 at 3:59AM PST or while supplies last). To check it out and to shop the deal, visit dell.com.

— Target: This year Target’s is featuring the PlayStation VR Headset, powered By PS4 with connection kit, on sale for $199.99 as one of their doorbuster Black Friday 2017 deals. That’s $100.00 off. The sale this year runs from Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 23, 2017) through Saturday (Nov. 25, 2017). You’ll be able to shop any of the featured deals first thing when you wake up on Thursday morning at target.com (and get free shipping!) or later in the afternoon in-stores when they open at 6:00PM. Just keep in mind that Target’s doorbuster deals tend to sell out fast.

— Best Buy: You’ll be able to pick up the PlayStation VR bundle with Gran Turismo Sport game included on sale for $299.99 (that’s $100 off). You’ll also find a number on PS4 games featured as doorbuster deals in their Black Friday ad starting at $29.99. 2016:

Updated November 16, 2016: Each year we come up with out most popular holiday gift list and without a doubt, after having a chance to test it out ourselves, the all new Playstation VR that was just released last month on October 13th will easily make it to the top of a lot of people’s list this year. But if you’re looking for a deal on it this Black Friday, bad news is that we couldn’t find any store offering a special deal on. Rather, this year everyone is pushing the new Xbox One S (see 2016’s top Black Friday deals on Xbox One S) and Playstation 4 Slim (the Pro version isn’t on sale anywhere either).

So really if you can’t wait for it to go on a deep sale, then you can pick up either the headset alone for $399.99 or the launch bundle that includes the headset and 2 PlayStation Move motion controllers, PlayStation VR Worlds Game Disc, and PlayStation Camera for $499.99 (which is a bargain at around $200 less than the Oculus Rift). However you may have trouble finding it in stock at some of the stores. Here are Sony’s top Playstation VR authorized resellers:

If you haven’t a chance to demo the system then recommend that you check playstation.com for the store nearest you that has a system available for you to try. In our area it seems like Best Buy and Gamestop are our two options. There are also touring around the country so you may be able to catch a chance to try out the system and some of the upcoming games near you – More information is posted on their site.
