It’s still too early for us to know what’s coming at Best Buy’s Black Friday sale this year but you can scroll down the page to see the details from last year to get an idea of what’s likely to come (we’re expecting to see similar types of deals return).

We’ll be posting a copy of their ad and all the important details for 2020 once we know more. We’ll also bring you details on this year’s revised store hours, store closures and in-store rules related to the current coronavirus pandemic that we’re in. Be sure to check back again soon for the latest updates or simply join our newsletter and we’ll let you know the moment news is announced.

Expected 2020 Start & End Dates

This is now the 9th consecutive year that we’ve been tracking Best Buy’s Black Friday ads and over the years we’ve got to know them pretty well. Here’s a look at our predicted Black Friday start and end dates here in 2020:

  • Expected start date, early access: Thursday November 5, 2020. Around the time Best Buy releases their Black Friday ad, you’ll find that select “preview” deals will have a “get it today” tag. That means you’ll be able can buy that particular item early at the Black Friday price.
  • Expected start date for “doorbuster” deals, online: Thursday November 26, 2020 at 12:01AM ET.
  • Expected start date, in-stores: Thursday November 26, 2020 at 5:00PM local time. Reversing a trend we’ve seen for the last decade, it’s been officially confirmed that all Best Buy stores nationwide will be closed ALL DAY on Thanksgiving day due to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. We’re expecting stores to open early on Black Friday morning.
  • Expected end date: Saturday November 28, 2020 or while supplies last.

The actual Black Friday sale dates and times for 2020 will be updated here as soon as we are able to independently verify them.

Our Favorite Deals for 2020

From all the Black Friday ads that we track, Best Buy’s is usually the longest of them all. Last year they had over 140 pages with each page averaging around 6 to 8 different deals. But that didn’t mean everything was a bargain. Here’s our list of things that you should keep an eye out for over Thanksgiving weekend:

  • Televisions — During these last few years, TV’s have been featured at all of the big box stores including Target, Walmart, Costco, and BJ’s. That’s probably because each year the quality keeps getting better and the prices keep falling. Last year Best Buy had a 58” Insigna FireTV Edition on sale for $199.99 after $280 savings. It also came with a free Amazon Echo Dot with purchase with made this one of the best TV deals we saw. They also had some fantastic Samsung TVs on sale like a 70” on sale for $549.99 and a 75” on sale for $749.99.
  • Computers/Tablets — I remember back about ten years ago when folks would camp out in front of Best Buy for days to be able to pick up on of their doorbuster laptops on sale. Although those days are now over, the laptop deals are still some of the best you’ll find on Black Friday. Be on the lookout for both low-end ones on sale for under $200, like last year’s 14” HP AMD-A9 4GB Windows 9 laptop on sale for $199.99, and premium ones on sale for around $900, like last year’s Apple MacBook Air that was on sale for $200 off at $899.99 and came with a $50 savings on AppleCare+ when purchased together.
  • Games — Now that the Coronavirus pandemic is keeping us indoors more, sales of gaming consoles have already soared in the first half for 2020. If you’re looking to upgrade your system or need to pick up some new games, then Thanksgiving weekend is when to find all the bargains on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One S and X, and Playstation VR. Just don’t expect to see any specials offered on the newly released PS5 (you’ll be lucky to even find one available anywhere before Christmas).
  • Small Kitchen Appliances — Are you finding yourself cooking at home much more than ever before? Then you’re not alone as COVID-19 has forced many of us to stop eating out on the town as much. I know that as I began cooking more home meals this year, especially for the kids that are now at home, I realized how much I was missing some critical kitchen appliances. Be on the lookout for deals this holiday weekend on KitchenAid mixers, Ninja blenders and Instant Pot slow cookers. Best Buy typically also features specials on cleaning items such as iRobot Roomba and Dyson vacuums.
  • Gift Cards — Some of the best Christmas gifts are the ones we choose ourselves. That’s why gift cards are so popular, especially for the loved ones in our life that are impossible to buy for. But forget about paying face-value for gift cards, Best Buy usually has a number of different ones that are discounted. Last year Apple App Store and iTunes gift cards were 20% off on $100 and others like Domino’s Pizza and Showtime were 15% off the face value.

  1. I want to buy a tv for my newly remodeled basement. Sony 65” OLED would be great but waiting for an even better deal than what they offer right now. I can’t spend more than $1.5k.

  2. I’m looking to upgrade to xBox One X… I’m hoping Best Buy’s Black Friday bundles deals are better than last year.
