Updated on Monday, October 5, 2026: Best Buy has started previewing its 2026 holiday season, but the retailer has not yet announced the full Black Friday schedule or ad.
Best Buy says holiday savings are beginning in October, with deals across gaming, computers, TVs and other electronics. Last year’s main Black Friday event started November 20, more than a week before Black Friday, after several weeks of early deals and weekly doorbusters.
For 2026, we expect the main sale to begin around November 19 and continue through Saturday, November 28, followed by Cyber Monday deals on November 30.

When Will Best Buy Black Friday 2026 Start?
Our best guess is Thursday, November 19.
Best Buy launched its main Black Friday sale on November 21 in 2024 and November 20 in 2025, both more than a week before Black Friday itself. Last year, earlier deals began October 31, with additional doorbusters appearing every Friday before the main event.
Best Buy has already confirmed that its 2026 holiday savings begin in October, so shoppers should expect a similar month-long buildup rather than a single weekend sale.
What Deals Should You Expect?
Best Buy’s Black Friday sale will likely cover nearly every major electronics category, but TVs, laptops, gaming hardware and appliances should produce some of the biggest dollar savings.
As of early October, Best Buy is already advertising discounts of up to $650 on select Windows PCs, up to $900 on gaming laptops and up to $500 on select MacBooks.
Its current TV promotions reach up to about 45% off select models, with additional large fixed-dollar discounts appearing on premium OLED and large-screen TVs.
That gives us a useful benchmark. A Black Friday offer should at least match these October discounts to be worth getting excited about.

The strongest deal will depend heavily on the exact model. A $600 laptop discounted by $250 can be a better buy than a $2,000 machine advertised as $600 off.
TVs Will Be One of the Biggest Categories
Best Buy is putting extra emphasis on televisions this holiday season, including OLED models and newer RGB LED technology from Samsung, Sony, LG, TCL and Hisense.
Current promotions are already offering up to 40%–45% off select TVs, so ordinary 20% discounts during Black Friday will not be particularly impressive.
For premium OLED models, we would pay more attention to the final price than the advertised percentage. Best Buy regularly uses large dollar-off claims on expensive TVs, and bundle offers with sound bars or installation can complicate comparisons.
Laptop Deals Could Be Stronger Than TV Deals
Computers are another category worth watching closely.
Best Buy’s current 2026 promotions already include up to $650 off select Windows PCs, up to $900 off gaming laptops and up to $500 off some MacBooks.
That means we would not wait until November for a laptop that is already discounted by 30% or more unless you are hoping for a particular model.
During Black Friday, concentrate on specifications rather than the percentage discount. Compare processor generation, memory, storage, display quality and GPU before deciding that one laptop is the better deal.
My Best Buy Plus May Be More Useful This Year
Best Buy changed its membership program in 2026.
My Best Buy Plus now costs $29.99 per year and includes exclusive prices, 1% back in rewards on eligible purchases, free two-day shipping and a 60-day return window on most products. My Best Buy Total costs $199.99 per year and adds protection plans and additional tech-support benefits.
Best Buy has also confirmed that Plus and Total members will receive exclusive holiday offers during the 2026 season.
We would not buy a membership solely because something says “member price,” but $29.99 can make sense if the member discount on one larger Black Friday purchase exceeds the fee.
Be Careful With Best Buy’s Price Match Policy
One detail shoppers often misunderstand is Black Friday price matching.
Best Buy’s current Price Match Guarantee specifically excludes competitor prices on products sold from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after Thanksgiving. It also excludes products specifically identified as Black Friday pricing, limited-quantity offers and special daily or hourly sales.
Best Buy will generally match its own lower price during the applicable return period when an item qualifies, but Black Friday-specific exclusions can still apply.
So do not assume you can buy from Best Buy early and automatically have a competitor’s Thanksgiving-week price matched later.
Don’t Overlook Open-Box Deals
Best Buy’s open-box inventory can be worth checking alongside new Black Friday products, particularly for laptops, TVs and appliances.
The company specifically highlights open-box products as one of its budget-friendly holiday shopping options this year.
A new product at 25% off may still cost more than an excellent-condition open-box unit. The tradeoff is that availability is usually local and limited to individual units.
Should You Wait Until Black Friday?
Not automatically.
Best Buy has already started its holiday savings push in October, and several current laptop and TV promotions are substantial.
If the exact product you want reaches a historically strong price before Thanksgiving, there may be little reason to wait.
Waiting makes more sense when the current discount is small, you are flexible about the exact model, or you want to compare several retailers once Walmart, Target and Amazon publish their Thanksgiving-week deals.
Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
Best Buy treats these as separate events.
In 2025, the main Black Friday sale ran through November 29, followed by the Cyber sale beginning November 30. Best Buy advertised savings of up to 50% during the Cyber event.
For 2026, Cyber Monday falls on November 30.
We would buy a limited-stock TV, laptop or gaming product once it reaches a strong Black Friday price rather than assuming Cyber Monday will be cheaper. Cyber Monday is more useful if you missed the first sale or are flexible about the exact product.
When Will the Best Buy Black Friday 2026 Ad Arrive?
Best Buy has already confirmed that 2026 holiday savings begin in October, but the full Black Friday schedule and final doorbusters have not been announced.
