Fortunately, TurboTax has a few good deals that are now live to help you save a few bucks. Here’s a look at the best TurboTax offers you’ll be able to find this week.

Top TurboTax Discounts & Offers, February 2026:

  • Extra 20% off TurboTax Online Federal — For a limited time, you can get an additional 20% off any TurboTax Online Federal product. You can choose the version that works best for you: Do-It-Yourself if you’re comfortable handling your taxes on your own, Live Assisted if you want an expert available to answer questions along the way, or Full Service if you’d rather have someone do it all for you. This offer is good through March 30, 2026, and applies to federal returns only.
  • Early-bird savings — Filing early can save you up to $40 with TurboTax’s early-bird pricing, available through February 27, 2026. You still have the flexibility to pick the type of support you want, whether that’s doing it yourself, getting guidance from an expert, or letting someone else handle the whole return. Filing early is an easy way to get a head start and take advantage of extra savings.
  • Switch and file for free in the TurboTax app — Didn’t file with TurboTax last year? You can switch and do your taxes for free using the Do It Yourself option in the TurboTax or Credit Karma mobile app. This works for both federal and state returns, and it handles almost any situation—from simple returns to things like self-employment income, stock or crypto sales, rental property, or itemized deductions. You might be asked to upgrade if your return is complex, but the fee will be waived as long as you file in the app by 11:59pm ET on February 28, 2026. Just remember, if you file after that or switch to a browser instead of the app, regular pricing applies. It’s a simple, low-pressure way to start your taxes and see how everything looks before you commit.
  • Military discount — Active duty military members and reservists from E1 through E9 can file both federal and state returns for free using TurboTax Deluxe, Premier, or Self-Employed. This excludes TurboTax Live and Desktop (CD/Download) products. A W-2 from DFAS is required to qualify. Military veterans and retirees still get the standard TurboTax discount available to everyone else.
  • TurboTax for College Students — If this is your first time filing, TurboTax walks you through each step so it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Qualifying students may be able to get more than $1,000 back through education credits and deductions. International students can get help with non-resident tax returns through Sprintax.
  • TurboTax Free Edition — About ~37% of filers qualify. Simple Form 1040 returns only (no schedules, except for EITC, CTC, student loan interest, and Schedule 1-A).

We are updating this page on an ongoing basis as the latest deals come in to us so be sure to check back again for the latest TurboTax offers through Tuesday, April 15, 2026 (that’s this year’s federal tax filing deadline). Just remember that the closer we get to the deadline the less likely we’ll see as many offers (prices have historically gone up for last minute filers).

What is a TurboTax Service Code?

From time to time, and only in special circumstances, TurboTax may issue you something called a “Service Code” — It’s a 7-digit number used for either order tracking or for applying a special credit (usually distributed by folks in Intuit’s customer service department). But if you happen to use any promotions found on this page, you’ll find that all of them have a service code built into the link url. That means any discount will be automatically applied with no other codes needed at checkout.

If you happen to have a service code that you would like to use, then you’ll be able to apply it to your TurboTax Online purchase, if applicable, right before the “view payments” section under the “file” tab as shown in the screenshot below.

How else can I save on TurboTax?

You may be able to save on TurboTax through your bank or financial institution. For example, in year’s past their was a Citibank TurboTax discount available if you completed your TurboTax purchase through your online banking account (found in the special offers section of your account). However, the partner discounts, like the one from Citi, are usually no more than $5 to $15 off which in many cases is less than the offers we typically highlight on this page. You can learn more about the options available at citi.com.

Does it cost extra to file a State tax return with TurboTax?

If you need to file a State tax return along with Federal tax return, then there is an extra filing fee that you will need to pay. The cost will vary from State to State and may depend on the version of TurboTax that you’re using this year and the number of State returns you need to file. There are usually no extra discounts offered from TurboTax on State returns.

Top TurboTax Discounts & Offers – February 2026

Updated on Monday, February 16, 2026: The 2026 tax season is underway, it’s time to start thinking about filing our returns if you haven’t done so already. TurboTax is once again offering some notable early-bird discounts from now through the end of February, which could help reduce the cost of filing your taxes. Whether you’re someone who prefers to handle everything on your own or you’re in need of professional help, there’s likely a TurboTax plan that fits your needs, and with the right timing, you can save big.

In addition to some of the general TurboTax offers, there’s also a special offer available for AAA members. If you’re a member of the American Automobile Association, you can take advantage of extra savings on TurboTax products, which is just one of the many perks of being a part of this organization. Let’s take a closer look at the best TurboTax discounts available this month, how you can use them, and how AAA members can maximize their savings even further.

1. Save up to $40 when you file early with TurboTax’s early-bird pricing.

TurboTax’s biggest offer in January is up to $40 off instant coupon offer available on all federal online products, regardless of the service level you choose. This offer is valid through February 27, 2026, so there’s plenty of time to take advantage of it.

TurboTax offers several service tiers, and the discount applies to all of them. Here’s a breakdown of the options available:

  • Do-It-Yourself Versions: This is the option for those who prefer to handle their own taxes. TurboTax’s software is user-friendly, guiding you through each step of the filing process and asking relevant questions to ensure accuracy. If you’re comfortable filing taxes independently, this might be the perfect fit for you.
  • Live Assisted Versions: For those who want a little more guidance while doing it themselves, TurboTax’s Live Assisted options provide access to tax professionals who can answer questions and offer advice. This is great if you need a little extra help but still want to manage the process yourself.
  • Full Service Versions: If you’d rather leave the entire tax preparation process in the hands of experts, TurboTax’s Full Service options allow you to upload your documents, and tax professionals will handle the rest. This is ideal for those who have complicated returns or simply prefer to avoid the hassle of filing their taxes.

The extra discount applies to all these service tiers, meaning whether you’re filing independently, seeking occasional assistance, or letting professionals handle it, you’ll get a discount. This is a great deal, especially if you know you’ll need TurboTax’s higher-level services but want to save as much as possible.

2. New to TurboTax? Switch and file for free in the app by 2/28.

You can file your taxes for free this year, no matter how simple or complicated your situation might be, by switching to TurboTax and using the Do It Yourself option in the TurboTax or Credit Karma mobile app. This special offer covers both federal and state returns and is available at no cost as long as you start and file in the app by 11:59pm ET on February 28, 2026. It’s for new customers only, which means anyone who filed with TurboTax last year isn’t eligible. If you filed the year before last but skipped last year, you’re still good to go. Keep in mind, this offer only applies to the Do It Yourself product and does not include TurboTax Live or Expert-assisted services.

Even if your taxes are more complex, you can still take advantage of this offer. Situations like self-employment income, rental property or stock sales, crypto transactions, unemployment benefits, or claiming itemized deductions all qualify. You might be prompted to upgrade to a paid product such as Standard, Deluxe, or Premium, but the upgrade fee will be waived as long as you file through the app by the February 28 deadline. If you switch to filing on a web browser or miss the deadline, the normal pricing for your tax situation will apply. While TurboTax Free Edition is available year-round for simple returns, this app-only promotion gives you full DIY access for any tax situation, completely free, when you file on time.

3. Save an extra 20% on TurboTax Expert Assist

For a limited time, you can get an additional 20% off TurboTax Expert Assist with this instant coupon, valid through March 30, 2026. This offer applies to federal tax products only and does not include state filing. The discount stacks with early-season savings but cannot be combined with other TurboTax promotions. Final prices are determined when you print or e-file your return and may change at any time.

TurboTax pricing varies depending on the product you choose and the features you need. Do It Yourself filing is usually priced between $0 and $139 and is currently available from $0 to $90. Expert Assist, which gives you the freedom to file your taxes on your own with on-demand help from a tax expert, normally ranges from $79 to $209 and is now available from $36 to $144. If you prefer to have a professional handle everything, Expert Full Service lets you hand off your return for a single price of $150, including both federal and state taxes. All pricing, features, and availability are subject to change without notice.

4. File for free with TurboTax Free Edition

TurboTax’s Free Edition. ~37% of filers qualify. Simple Form 1040 returns only (no schedules, except for EITC, CTC, student loan interest, and Schedule 1-A).

5. AAA Member Discounts on TurboTax

If you’re a member of the American Automobile Association (AAA), you can also get an exclusive discount on TurboTax products this tax season. As one of the 60 million AAA members in North America, you’re eligible for $5 to $15 off TurboTax Online, which can be a great way to lower your tax preparation costs.

The AAA discount applies to various TurboTax products, including their Deluxe, Premier, and Self-Employed versions. Depending on your region and membership level, you could save up to $20 on your TurboTax filing.

Here’s how to take advantage of the AAA discount:

  1. Visit your regional AAA website: For example, members in Northern California should go to calstate.aaa.com, while those in North Carolina should visit carolinas.aaa.com. If you’re unsure which website applies to you, check your local AAA branch for details.
  2. Log in or create an account: If you haven’t already, you’ll need to log in to your existing AAA account or create a new one. Keep in mind that you need to be an active member to access the discount.
  3. Search for the TurboTax link: Once logged in, navigate to the “offers” section and find the TurboTax link. This will take you to a page where you can access TurboTax’s offerings with your AAA discount already applied.
  4. Check your discount: Before completing your purchase, ensure that the discount has been applied correctly. You’ll see the savings on the “Review your order” screen before finalizing your payment. If the discount isn’t showing up, double-check the link and try again.

It’s important to note that the AAA discount runs regionally, meaning the specific offer or amount can vary depending on where you live. Some regions may offer higher or lower savings, so be sure to review the details for your specific location before purchasing.

With so many TurboTax discounts available this season, there’s no reason to wait until the last minute to file your taxes. From the 10% off on federal online products to special savings for AAA members, it’s a great time to take advantage of these offers and maximize your savings. Be sure to choose the plan that best suits your needs and don’t forget to apply your AAA discount if you’re eligible. Getting your taxes done right and saving money in the process is a win-win.
