If you’ve been thinking about trying Hulu or coming back after a break, Black Friday remains the best time of year to sign up, even as Hulu transitions into Disney+. The long-running Hulu Black Friday promotion is likely returning in 2025, but this year it will appear under the Disney+ umbrella, since Hulu’s standalone app is being phased out in favor of a unified Disney+ experience.
While Disney hasn’t officially announced the 2025 offer yet, the company has confirmed new pricing and bundles that will shape this year’s promotion. Here’s what you can expect based on the latest changes, prior patterns, and the most recent October 2025 pricing update.
Likely Black Friday 2025 Sale Dates
For years, Hulu’s (and now Disney’s) streaming deals have followed a predictable holiday pattern:
-
Expected Start Date: Thursday, November 27, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day) at hulu.com.
-
Expected End Date: Cyber Monday, December 1, 2025
In previous years, early access has occasionally gone live as soon as Monday, November 24, 2025, through promotions aired on ABC’s Good Morning America or other Disney-owned outlets. If that pattern continues, we could see an early rollout again this year, with the full deal opening up to everyone by Thanksgiving.
Who Can Get the Deal
As in past years, this sale won’t be available to everyone — it’s meant for new and eligible returning subscribers only.
To qualify:
-
You must not have an active Disney+ or Hulu subscription when signing up.
-
You must not have subscribed in the past 30 days.
Although these are the official terms, many past users have successfully re-qualified by signing up with a different email address and payment method.
If you’re currently subscribed to Disney+ or Hulu, plan to cancel before mid-October so your account fully deactivates before the sale launches. You’ll still keep access through the end of your billing period, but once your subscription lapses, you’ll be eligible for the promo pricing.
Expected Discount Levels
This year’s promotion will likely apply to the new combined Disney+ and Hulu bundles, not the old standalone Hulu plan. Based on the newly announced prices (effective October 21, 2025), here’s what to expect:
Plan | Regular Price | Expected Black Friday Deal |
---|---|---|
Disney+ & Hulu (With Ads) | $12.99/month | $0.99–$1.99/month for 12 months |
Disney+, Hulu & ESPN Select (With Ads) | $19.99/month | $2.99–$3.99/month for 12 months |
Disney+, Hulu & ESPN Select Premium (Ad-Free Disney+/Hulu) | $29.99/month | Unlikely to be discounted |
That means you could pay as little as $12–$24 total for a full year of Disney+ and Hulu combined (compared to the regular $156/year price) making this one of the biggest streaming discounts of the season.
What’s Not Included
As with previous years, some plans and features likely won’t be part of the deal:
-
No ad-free options: The sale applies only to the ad-supported tiers.
-
No Hulu + Live TV: Live TV plans start at $89.99/month and are excluded from holiday discounts.
-
Add-ons extra: Premium channels like HBO Max, Showtime, or Starz still cost their normal rates.
If you choose to upgrade to an ad-free plan later, you’ll be charged the standard monthly price for that tier going forward.
What Happens After the 12 Months?
After your 12-month promotional period ends, your plan will automatically renew at the then-current regular price unless you cancel first.
As of late 2025, renewal prices are expected to be:
-
Disney+ & Hulu (With Ads): $12.99/month
-
Disney+, Hulu & ESPN Select (With Ads): $19.99/month
You can cancel anytime during the promo year — even immediately after signing up — and you’ll keep full access through the remainder of your prepaid 12 months.

Questions & Comments
Are you currently subscribed to Hulu? Are you looking to buy a Hulu subscription for a loved one as a Christmas present? Let us know in the comments.
I am not able to join your news, letter list – it is greyed out and won’t take my info
Thanks for the tip… it’s now fixed!
I have done the $1.99 since 2020. Never had a problem with any extra charges and cancel before I get charged the regular price. Mine expires this month. I think I might do what the other suggested use new email and purchase a $25 gc to cover the year.
Are you creating a new email address every year to do this? Also, what is the purpose of the GC? To avoid using your own cc that is tracked?
Nah. Just switch back and forth between two. We’ve been doing this for years and years. Spouse pays for one year, I pay for the next. As long as that info hasn’t been used in a month, you’re good. Never bothered with a gift card. Just use different credit cards (again, spouse’s, then mine).
How soon should you unsubscribe current account before the Black Friday deal
For the new email, is that with the current account or are you using a new account with a different email?
New account
Different accounts. We have been exchanging Hulu subscriptions by using my and my wife’s account. The only caveat is the you’ll lose you watch history from the last 12 months. Also any bundle deals will be lost. I added Disney+ for just a couple of dollars extra. We’ll have to cancel it too.
they are still offering the Disney for $2.99 a month
New account with a different email and different credit card for payment. Don’t forget to log into your current account and cancel that subscription.
Looking for a deal for self. Tired of paying to much for satellite.
Is there ever any deals that include local live tv?
Is it for live v????
No it wasn’t.
Can you upgrade this to an ad-free subscription and maintain a discount? Or add on other add-ons later?
Looking for a Hulu deal.
ok
No you get charged the normal fee as if you signed up for commercial free any ol time of the year.
I use it with a chrome browser and ublock. Blocks almost all commercials . You sometimes have to turn off ublock and turn it back on to start a program. Works on several free services as well. Crackle and Roku channels. Just get a cheap chromebook with hdmi output.
Last year I had to quit Hulu about 6 months before Thanksgiving and saw the deal but they still wouldn’t let me get the discount had to use a different email and credit card
Some credit cards have a charge forgiveness limit. Discover has a $2 limit, so if you have a recurring charge under $2 and nothing else on that card for the month, discover writes it off automatically. Thus free Hulu potentially.
Seriously?
no
Well except with taX it’s 2.10 … So you wouldn’t qualify anymore
sounds great no tax in Oregon on anything but booze cigs gas
and pot
Hulu adds taxes putting it slightly over $2/month but I like the way you think!
Mine is exactly $1.99 a month.
Mine is charged on my credit card EXACTLY .99 cents and the exact amount about 6 months.
Someone please confirm; with a new email we can get the Hulu deal, I unsubscribed today.
Can’t confirm for this year but I have done it in the past.
Unless they change something this year, you need a new email address AND a new credit card number. Should not be a problem if you use Privacy or one of the other services that allow you to generate merchant-specific card numbers linked to your checking account. Or buy a $25 VISA or MC gift card and you should be set for the year.
Good idea about using a $25 credit card gc
They haven’t announced anything yet, but I have been able to do it for the last two years.
In the past u needed a new email and different credit card. As well as using an incognito screen. However a deal hasn’t been announced for this year yet
You may need a new payment method too.
For the past 2 years, as long as I use a new email, they give you the deal.
Yes. A new email account means you are a new customer. You can alternate email addresses to keep the deal going every year.
Been doing this the last 3 years, switch the recipient back and forth between my husband and I; the other person (current subscriber) cancels their subscription while new person takes over. We keep the same password, just have to change the email address for login. I think the “eligible returning customer” just has to not be a current subscriber for either the last 4 or 6 months
And you have to change credit cards. Made the mistake last time of using the same card so I was declined the promotional price until I used another card
Debbie K. Do you guys cancel your subscription then or do you cancel it 3 months ahead of time. Also curious you spoke of taking turns each year. Do you guys, when it’s ur turn again, reuse the email you use when it was your turn or generate yourself a new email, for yourself every time if was your turn..? I hope that wasn’t too hard to follow, sorry.
Different person who does the same thing. I follow your question. We use our regular emails. Just have one each. It doesn’t have to be a completely new email, just one that hasn’t had a Hulu account in a month. And we cancel once the new person takes over.
Last year I was unable to restart as an eligible returning customer, despite getting the email offering it to me. Messaged customer service, and they basically said it wasn’t their problem, did I want to start my subscription at full price. Um…no. I don’t.
Can I get the sale again if I got it last year?
Hi Janine,
The terms last year say the offer is for “new and eligible returning subscribers only” so not sure if you would be able to get this deal again or not. You’ll probably have to wait as see.
Cheers,
Eric
no you had to have quit 3 months before but your can use a different email and get the same deal.
I tried last year and was charged the regular with a 30 day free trial. So I canceled.
Christmas gift oh Hulu subscription for someone
Is it still on special?
