Updated on Sunday, September 6, 2026: Free People has not announced its Black Friday 2026 sale yet, but last year’s event gives us a pretty good idea of what may be coming.
We expect the main Black Friday sale to arrive on Friday, November 27, with around 50% off select Free People and FP Movement styles.
Unlike many retailers, Free People probably won’t take a flat percentage off at freepeople.com. Instead, expect a limited group of clothing, activewear, bags and accessories to get the biggest discounts.
Then on Cyber Monday, the focus may shift to an extra discount on already marked-down sale items.

These are predictions based on Free People’s recent sales. We’ll update the page once the 2026 event is confirmed.

When Will Free People’s Black Friday 2026 Sale Start?
Our best prediction is Friday, November 27.
Free People waited until Black Friday itself to launch its main 2025 sale. The offer went live just after midnight and featured 50% off select Free People and FP Movement styles. It was promoted as a limited, one-day sale.
That is different from retailers that start calling everything “Black Friday” in early November.
Free People may still have regular sale merchandise and early holiday markdowns before Thanksgiving, but we would expect the main Black Friday offer to arrive on Black Friday itself.
How Much Will Free People Take Off?
50% off select styles is our strongest prediction.
Last year Free People specifically offered 50% off selected Free People and FP Movement merchandise. The discount was automatic and some outside brands sold through FreePeople.com were excluded.
The important word is “select.”
Do not expect half off every dress, pair of jeans, sweater or FP Movement item on the site.
Instead, Free People tends to choose certain products, colors and styles for the promotion.
What Could Free People Black Friday Prices Look Like?
Here are some examples if Free People repeats its 50% offer.
| Regular Price | Price at 50% Off |
|---|---|
| $40 | $20 |
| $70 | $35 |
| $78 | $39 |
| $98 | $49 |
| $128 | $64 |
| $148 | $74 |
| $168 | $84 |
| $198 | $99 |
Of course, the actual Black Friday pricing may not work this neatly. Free People sometimes gives individual products fixed sale prices instead of simply cutting the regular price in half.
Last year, for example, a $78 Quilted Carryall Bag dropped to $40, $128 East Bay Cuffed Jeans fell to $70, and several $168 dresses were marked down to $100.
Free People Black Friday 2026 Deal Predictions
Based on last year’s sale, these are the categories and prices we would watch.
| Category | What We Could See |
|---|---|
| Select bags | Around $20 to $50 |
| Jeans | Around $60 to $100 on select styles |
| Dresses | Around $70 to $110 |
| Sweaters and pullovers | Around $50 to $100 |
| Jackets | Around 25% to 50% off select styles |
| FP Movement tops | Around $20 to $50 |
| FP Movement leggings | Around $40 to $60 on select styles |
| Activewear shorts | Around $30 |
| Sale merchandise on Cyber Monday | Extra 40% off select items |
These are estimates, not confirmed 2026 deals.
The Best Black Friday Deals May Not Be the Most Expensive Items
This is something worth knowing before the sale starts.
Free People’s Black Friday discounts can be all over the place.
Last year a $78 Quilted Carryall Bag dropped to $40, almost half off. A $348 Bali Until Dawn Jacket, meanwhile, dropped to $250, which was closer to 28% off.
So don’t assume a higher-priced item automatically gets the better deal.
We would look at the percentage savings on the exact item rather than shopping by category alone.
FP Movement Is Worth Watching
FP Movement should be one of the better sections to check right when the sale begins.
Free People specifically included select FP Movement styles in its 50% Black Friday offer last year.
The current Hot Shot Onesie is $70, while Good Karma High-Rise leggings are $78.
If either type of item gets picked for a 50% promotion, prices could fall to around $35 to $39.
We would not assume popular core colors will be included, though. Free People often discounts particular colors while leaving others at full price.
Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
This is probably the most important decision at Free People.
Last year the two sales were very different.
| Sale | 2025 Offer |
|---|---|
| Black Friday | 50% off select Free People and FP Movement styles |
| Cyber Monday | 40% off sale items as marked |
Free People’s Cyber Monday offer was already appearing Sunday evening and continued on Monday, December 1.
That means neither sale was automatically better.
We would shop Black Friday if a full-price or popular item you want gets one of the special 50% markdowns.
We would wait for Cyber Monday if the item is already sitting in Free People’s sale section.
Why Cyber Monday Can Be Better for Clearance
Here’s a simple example.
Say a sweater originally costs $148 but is already marked down to $69.95.
If Cyber Monday takes another 40% off that sale price, it would fall to about $41.97.
That’s roughly 72% below the original price.
Free People’s sale section already includes some pretty deep markdowns throughout the year. Current examples include a $148 Asher Pullover at $69.95 and a $78 Good Feels Tube Set at $39.95.
So for bargain hunting, the Cyber Monday sale-on-sale offer could be more interesting than Black Friday itself.
The tradeoff is selection. Your size or preferred color may be gone by then.
What Would We Buy on Black Friday?
We would start with bags, denim, dresses and FP Movement.
Those categories had some of last year’s better deals, including the Quilted Carryall Bag for $40, selected dresses around $100 and discounted FP Movement styles.
We would also prioritize anything where you care about the exact color or size.
If you are just looking for the cheapest Free People item and don’t care much about the style, we would spend more time in the sale section and check again on Cyber Monday.
Don’t Assume Every Brand on FreePeople.com Is Included
Free People sells plenty of merchandise from outside brands, including shoes, beauty products and accessories.
That does not mean everything qualifies for the Black Friday offer.
Last year’s 50% promotion specifically had brand exclusions, and the Cyber Monday sale also excluded certain brands.
Check the final price in your cart before assuming a product is part of the promotion.
One Small Shipping Trick
Free People currently offers free standard shipping on U.S. orders of $100 or more.
There is also free standard shipping on U.S. orders placed through the Free People app.
If that policy is still around in November, ordering through the app could save a few dollars on a smaller Black Friday purchase.
When Will the Free People Black Friday 2026 Ad Come Out?
Don’t expect a traditional Black Friday ad weeks ahead of time.
Free People tends to reveal its deals much closer to the event. Last year’s main 50% offer appeared on Black Friday itself, while Cyber Monday brought a different promotion a couple of days later.
We expect the same general approach in 2026.
Once the sale goes live, we’ll update this page with the confirmed offer, featured styles, prices and any brand exclusions.
