Updated on Wednesday June 19, 2024: As the world’s largest subscription collection of genealogy databases, Ancestry is an outstanding resource for researching your family history. But forgot about paying full price for your membership… that’s because their Black Friday sale is just around the corner. And although the official details have not yet been announced, we’ve been tracking their sales for so many years now that we pretty much know what to expect. Here are our predictions for 2024:

• You can expect DNA kits and Ancestry gift membership to be 50% off (or slightly more!) during the annual event. That means you should be able to pick up AncestryDNA for as low as $49. Historically, it’s their best sale of the year.
• Ancestry’s Black Friday sale usually begins on Thanksgiving day itself and runs through the end of day on Cyber Monday. This year that’s from Thursday, November 28, 2024 to Monday, December 2, 2024.
• Ancestry always runs a “holiday sale” in the days leading up to the long weekend. Don’t shop it! That’s because it’s never as good as their main event (last year it was up to 40% off their subscriptions).

I’m sure you’ll notice Ancestry’s pre-Black Friday sale in the days leading up to Thanksgiving weekend. But I hope you wait! The deal is never as good as what’s usually offered over Thanksgiving weekend. Here is this year’s expected sales schedule for the main event:

• Expected BF sale start date: Thursday November 28, 2024 at 12:01AM ET (that’s on Thanksgiving day).
• Expected BF sale end date: Monday December 2, 2024 at 11:59PM ET (that’s on Cyber Monday).
