Every year, Ancestry’s holiday promotions follow a similar pattern, and Cyber Monday is always part of the larger Black Friday event rather than a separate sale. Based on what happened these last few years, here’s the schedule and discounts we’re predicting for 2025.

Cyber Monday 2025 Sale Dates & Duration

In 2024, Ancestry launched its Black Friday offers on Thanksgiving Day and kept them running through the morning of the following Tuesday. That six-day stretch covered Thanksgiving, Black Friday, the weekend, and Cyber Monday. This year, the same pattern is likely.

• Expected start date: Thursday, November 27, 2025, exclusively at ancestry.com.

• Expected end date: Tuesday, December 2, 2025, around 10:00 a.m. ET

In the weeks before the main event, we may also see smaller promotions. Last year, for example, Ancestry ran a “Holiday Sale” beginning November 1 with modest discounts on the DNA kit. Those early offers didn’t match the deeper Black Friday reductions, so the real savings are expected to come during the main six-day window.

Main Deals to Expect

The highlight of Ancestry’s Cyber Monday sale has consistently been the AncestryDNA kits. In 2024, the AncestryDNA + Traits kit dropped from $119 to $39, which Ancestry called its “best deal ever”. During the earlier November promotion, the standard DNA kit (without Traits) also went for $39, down from its regular $99 price. We can reasonably expect to see one or both kits offered at similar prices again this year.

Memberships are another major part of the holiday sale. Last year, Ancestry offered 50% off gift memberships, though only for new accounts. These discounts did not apply to renewals.

On occasion, additional products are included. In 2024, there were reports of pet DNA kits being reduced by $50, and in prior years, bundled offers have appeared that combined DNA kits with membership discounts. These extras aren’t guaranteed, but they’re worth keeping an eye out for.

When Will the Sale Start?

Ancestry’s Black Friday Sale in 2025 is likely to begin on Thursday, November 27, 2025 (that’s Thanksgiving Day itself) exclusively at ancestry.com. The deals are expected to last through Tuesday, December 2, 2025, ending at 10:00 a.m. ET. This 6-day window includes the entire Thanksgiving weekend and extends into Cyber Monday.

It’s worth noting that in previous years, Ancestry has also run promotions leading up to Black Friday. For instance, last year they had a “Holiday Sale” starting on November 1st with discounts on the AncestryDNA kit alone. This early offer wasn’t as generous as the Black Friday deal so we recommend not shopping before the main event.

Looking at last year’s offers gives us a solid idea of what to expect this time around. Here’s what Ancestry offered during their Black Friday event in 2024:

• AncestryDNA + Traits was on sale for $39 (a substantial drop from its regular price of $119). Ancestry called this their “best deal ever” on the DNA + Traits kit.
