Black Friday at Gymboree is more of a season than a single-day event. If you’ve shopped their sales before, you know they don’t wait until the end of November to kick things off—and 2025 looks like it’ll follow the same pattern. Here’s what to expect this year, based on last year’s schedule and offers.
When Will the Black Friday 2025 Sale Start?
Even though Black Friday officially lands on November 28th this year, Gymboree starts dropping sale hints weeks ahead. Based on how things rolled out last year, the first “Black Friday Preview” will likely show up on their website during the first few days of November—possibly even as early as November 1, 2025.
From there, the full “Black Friday” sale typically begins in earnest around November 8, 2025. This includes deeper discounts, more sitewide offers, and occasional limited-time extras. The sale doesn’t wrap up immediately after Thanksgiving either. Last year, the main Black Friday offers ran all the way until about December 18, and there’s no sign that’ll change for 2025.
So, if you’re wondering when to start browsing—don’t wait until Thanksgiving week. There will be plenty of good deals well before that.
Sitewide Discount Details
The main promotion Gymboree ran last year was “Up to 60% off the entire site”, and it lasted from early November through mid-December. That’s probably going to be the core offer again this year.
It’s not always 60% off across the board—different categories are discounted differently—but the key point is that nearly everything is marked down in some way. Last year’s sale applied to most regular items and even extended to clearance sections (which were marked down even more).
One thing to keep in mind is that these discounts were only available online. That includes their main site (gymboree.com) and official mobile apps. You couldn’t get these same offers in stores.
Rolling Doorbusters and Flash Deals
Throughout the Black Friday sale period, Gymboree often rotates in some time-sensitive deals. These “doorbusters” or flash sales pop up at different times and may only last a day or two.
For example, last year they had a special flash sale on Gymmies sleepwear—select styles were marked down to $9.99 and up, but only online at childrensplace.com (not on gymboree.com). That was a brand-specific offer and didn’t overlap with Gymboree-branded merchandise.
Expect more of these flash-style offers to come and go in 2025. These deals are usually advertised in emails, banners, or app notifications, so it’s a good idea to stay subscribed or check the site regularly if you’re looking for something specific.
Extra Coupon Offers
Last year, Gymboree also offered one-time-use coupons around Thanksgiving. These came via email and gave shoppers an extra $10 off orders of $85 or more. This was in addition to the existing sitewide deals.
I’d expect a similar coupon to come through this year—likely around Thanksgiving Day or that weekend. The code had to be entered at checkout, and it couldn’t be reused, so once you got it, you had to use it during that time window.
It’s a small extra, but if you were already planning a bigger order, it was an easy way to save a bit more.
What to Buy: Popular Sale Categories
Certain types of items always go on sale around Black Friday, and last year’s breakdown gives a good preview of what we’ll likely see again. These are the categories and price points that stood out most last year:
-
Puffer Jackets – Starting at $29.99
-
Microfleece Pieces – Starting at $19.99
-
Sherpa Items – From $19.99
-
Sweaters – Starting at $14
-
Dresses – From $20
-
Tops – Starting at $12
-
Bottoms – From $16
These were among the best deals last year, and based on past patterns, they’re probably going to be featured again in 2025. These discounts were advertised as “Black Friday Deals” and marked in red with the original ticketed price crossed out.
Worth noting: even though many of these deals said “starting at,” the most popular sizes or colors sometimes sold out quickly. So if you see something you like early in the sale, it’s best not to wait too long.
Clearance Deals
Gymboree also included a pretty significant clearance sale last year. Clearance items had up to 70% off, with new styles added during the event.
This section was separate from the main promotional prices, but it could overlap a bit. For example, an item might already be on clearance and then receive an additional markdown during a flash sale.
Clearance was also excluded from coupon codes, so any $10-off offers didn’t apply here. Still, if you were okay digging a bit, the clearance section had some of the lowest prices overall.
Gift Card Bonus Promo
During the Black Friday event, Gymboree ran a promo where you could get a $10 gift coupon when you purchased $50 or more in gift cards. That bonus was sent after the gift card purchase and could be used on a future order.
It’s unclear whether this will happen again for 2025, but it was available during the broader holiday sale period last year. If you’re planning to buy Gymboree gift cards for the holidays anyway, this kind of bonus is worth looking out for.
Place Bucks and Rewards Program
One of the best ways to save even more—if you’re a regular shopper—is through their My Place Rewards program. Last year, qualifying purchases during the sale earned $10 in Place Bucks for every $20 spent.
These Place Bucks could be redeemed later for additional discounts. But not every item or transaction qualified. The offer had exclusions, including gift card purchases and some third-party items.
If you’re already a rewards member, you’ll probably see similar benefits return this year. Just keep an eye on what items qualify, since the fine print usually excludes quite a few categories.
Terms, Exclusions, and Fine Print
There’s always fine print, and Gymboree’s Black Friday 2025 sale will be no exception. Based on last year, here’s what you should expect in terms of limitations:
-
The sale will be online-only—no in-store discounts.
-
Offers will be valid only in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
-
Discounts will apply to Gymboree-branded merchandise only (when shopping on gymboree.com). If you shop at childrensplace.com, you’ll find Children’s Place, Sugar & Jade, and PJ Place items—but those don’t mix with Gymboree promotions.
-
Certain items are excluded from discounts, including:
-
Select PJ pants
-
Holiday graphic tees
-
Sweaters, fleece, sherpa, and puffers
-
Teddy boots, chalet boots, and sleepwear
-
-
Coupons can’t be used on gift cards, bulk orders, or previous purchases.
-
Only one coupon can be used per transaction, and codes are not reissued if lost or expired.
-
If you return an item, your refund will reflect the discount you received, not the original price.
-
Clearance and some specialty items are excluded from extra coupon stacking.
So while the sales are solid overall, it’s worth double-checking the fine print if you’re shopping for specific items or trying to stack multiple offers.
