Walgreens Black Friday 2025 Sale – What to Expect & When

Every year, Walgreens runs one of the more overlooked but surprisingly useful Black Friday sales. If you shop there regularly for essentials, household items, or even small gifts, their annual event is worth knowing about. We spent time looking at last year’s ad and patterns from prior years to give you a detailed look at what to expect for 2025.

When the 2025 Black Friday Sale Will Happen

Walgreens usually lines up its Black Friday sale with its standard weekly ad cycle (similar to Rite Aid and CVS Pharmacy). In 2025, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 27. That means the Black Friday event is expected to run from Sunday, November 23 through Saturday, November 29, 2025, or until supplies sell out.

The ad itself should be released on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. That’s eight days before Thanksgiving. Last year, their ad was 34 pages long, so you can expect something similar in size this year.

Shopping can be done both in-store and online at walgreens.com, but a handful of offers are usually online-only, especially when it comes to photo products that require promo codes.

Discounts to Expect

Looking at last year’s sale, most offers fell into three main categories:

  • Buy One Get One (BOGO) 50% off deals

  • Straight percentage-off discounts (30% to 75% depending on the category)

  • Reward offers that give you Walgreens Cash or gift cards with purchase

Most seasonal items and gift sets fall into the BOGO or percentage-off categories. Everyday essentials like paper goods, laundry detergent, and personal care products often come with reward offers. Based on past patterns, you can expect discounts between 25% and 75% depending on the product type.

Just keep in mind that to get the best pricing you’ll need to be signed up for myWalgreens, their free loyalty program. Almost all discounts in the Black Friday ad are tied to that membership. You can join in-store or online if you’re not already signed up.

Holiday Gifts and Seasonal Décor

Walgreens usually fills much of its ad space with seasonal gift and décor offers. These are good for stocking stuffers, small gifts, or quick holiday touches at home.

From last year, examples included:

  • Buy 2 get 3rd free on holiday gifting or décor with myWalgreens

  • 50% off Totes slippers

  • $5 Modern Expressions stainless steel tumblers

  • $9.99 holiday candle sets

  • Buy 2 get 1 free holiday mug gift sets

  • Buy 2 get 1 free Hallmark holiday gift bags or wrap

We expect similar categories in 2025. Walgreens tends to highlight small gifts like mugs, slippers, candles, and seasonal decorations, and the price points are usually under $10 for many of these items.

Pet Supplies

Last year, Walgreens also ran holiday deals for pets, which are likely to return. Examples included $1 off Holiday PetShoppe or The Grinch pet toys and BOGO 50% off Blue Buffalo pet treats.

Arts, Crafts, and Stationery

Creative and craft items also show up in Walgreens’ Black Friday ad. In 2024, they featured:

  • $10 Sharpie holiday creative color marker packs

  • BOGO 50% off Crayola art supplies or coloring activities

These are good filler items if you need something for kids, students, or anyone who likes creative hobbies.

Gift Cards

Gift card promotions are a regular highlight of Walgreens’ Black Friday sale. In 2024, they ran a deal offering a free $10 Walgreens gift card when you bought any two gift cards from select brands like Google Play, Cracker Barrel, Gap, H&M, and Fandango.

These types of deals are usually limited to certain brands each year, but they’re useful if you plan to give gift cards or were going to buy them anyway.

Photo Products

Walgreens photo deals tend to be some of the steepest during Black Friday. Last year’s promotions included:

  • 75% off same-day 16×20 canvas prints with promo code BFCANVAS

  • 60% off wall décor with promo code 60MERRY

  • 60% off photo calendars with promo code THANKSCAL

All of these were available online or through the Walgreens mobile app. Expect another round of 60–75% off codes for canvases, calendars, cards, and décor in 2025.

Food and Candy

Walgreens always uses candy and snacks as doorbuster-type items. In 2024, they offered:

  • 50% off Hershey’s, Dove, or Mars holiday candy

  • $2.99 Ghirardelli or Lindt premium chocolate bars

  • BOGO 50% off Popcorn Expressions holiday popcorn tins

  • BOGO 50% off Hallmark holiday boxed cards (paired with candy near checkout displays)

Soda multipacks were also included, with 12-pack Pepsi or Dr Pepper products priced 3 for $14.99 or $9.99 each.

Beauty, Bath, and Fragrance Gift Sets

One of Walgreens’ biggest Black Friday categories is holiday-themed beauty sets. Last year, examples included:

  • BOGO 50% off Soap & Glory holiday bath, cosmetics, or skin care

  • BOGO 50% off No7 holiday cosmetics

  • Bath, hair, or personal care holiday gift sets that earned $4 in-store rewards when you bought 2

  • BOGO 50% off designer fragrance holiday gift sets

These sets usually make up an entire section of the ad, and Walgreens is consistent about running them year after year.

Everyday Essentials

Walgreens also discounts basic household and personal care products during Black Friday. These deals often combine low prices with reward offers.

Examples from last year:

  • $5.49 Tide laundry care with myWalgreens, plus $5 in-store rewards when you bought 4

  • $5 to $9 Crest, Oral-B, Fixodent, or Burt’s Bees dental care, plus $5 in-store rewards when you bought 3

  • $5 Scott Extra Soft bath tissue or paper towels

  • BOGO 50% off Gillette, Old Spice, or Secret deodorant and body spray, plus $4 in-store rewards when you bought 4

  • $19.99 Vicks DayQuil, NyQuil, or Sinex products

  • BOGO free Nature Made vitamins and supplements

  • 25% off Airborne health supplements

  • $6.99 W-brand alkaline batteries

These deals tend to be popular because they cover things people actually need, not just seasonal items.

Black Friday 2024 Start & End Dates

Walgreens runs their specials for an entire week.

  • Confirmed BF sale start date: Sunday November 24, 2024 (that’s 4 days before Thanksgiving). All stores are usually open from 8:00AM-10:00PM on Thanksgiving day but store hours may slightly vary by location.
  • Confirmed BF sale end date: Saturday, November 30, 2024 or while in-stock supplies last.
