If you’ve ever shopped at Fred Meyer on Black Friday, you already know it’s not like the drawn-out sales you see at other retailers. Fred Meyer’s event is short, intense, and packed with deals. It’s a one-day-only, in-store sale that only happens on Black Friday itself. That means you have one shot to get what you want—Friday, November 28, 2025. So if you’re planning to shop there this year, here’s what you need to know.
When to Expect the Fred Meyer Black Friday Ad
Based on past years, we’ll probably see the 2025 ad leak or officially release around Thursday, November 6, 2025. That’s three weeks out from Thanksgiving day.
Their ad is usually pretty large—expect something around 40 pages. It covers every department: electronics, clothing, toys, kitchen gadgets, holiday decor, and more.
When the Sale Starts
Fred Meyer’s Black Friday sale is not an all-weekend thing. It’s a one-day-only event, and it happens in-store only, not online.
Stores are expected to open at 5:00 AM on Friday, November 28, 2025, and from what we’ve seen in the past, the lines can start forming well before that. If you want first pick at the best stuff, it’s worth getting there early.
Don’t Forget Your Rewards Card
One important thing: all advertised prices require you to use your Fred Meyer Rewards Card. No card, no deal. If you don’t already have one, you can usually sign up quickly in-store or online beforehand. You won’t want to skip this step—the savings depend on it.
Early Bird Freebies
Fred Meyer tends to sweeten the deal a bit for early risers. The first 100 people in line at each store usually get a free mystery gift card. The value varies—some are worth $5, others up to $100. It’s random, but it’s free.
Also, free Starbucks coffee and donuts are handed out to all customers while supplies last. It’s a nice touch for those braving the cold at the crack of dawn.
How Much You Can Save
In general, you’ll find discounts of up to 50% off across most departments. Some items go even higher—especially apparel and seasonal home goods. Electronics tend to have smaller percentage discounts but still offer solid savings, especially on name brands like Apple, Samsung, and Sony.
Fred Meyer also throws in a holiday savings bonus for certain items, similar to how Kohl’s does their Kohl’s Cash. You might get a rebate or store credit with qualifying purchases. These offers are usually printed in the fine print of the ad, so keep an eye out.
Categories That Will See the Biggest Discounts
Here’s a breakdown of the product categories that usually get the most attention and what kind of deals to expect this year based on what we saw in 2024:
Electronics
Electronics are always a big draw, and Fred Meyer brings solid name-brand deals. Last year’s lineup included:
-
55” Samsung Crystal UHD 4K Smart TV – $299.99 (down from $349.99)
-
65” Samsung Crystal HDR UHD 4K Smart TV – $429.99 (down from $499.99)
-
Apple AirPods (3rd Gen) – $99.99 (regular $169.99)
-
Apple iPad 10th Gen 10.9” 64GB – $249.99 (regular $349.99)
-
Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen (40mm) – $169.99 (regular $249.99)
-
Beats Solo 4 On-Ear Headphones – $99.99 (regular $199.99)
-
Amazon Fire Stick 4K – $21.99 (regular $49.99)
-
ASUS TUF A15 Gaming Laptop – $649.99 (savings of $150)
If you’re aiming for TVs, streaming devices, or personal electronics, it’s worth getting in line early. These go fast and stock is usually limited.
Gaming
Gaming bundles and consoles are always hot-ticket items, and Fred Meyer does include them. In 2024, they offered:
-
Nintendo Switch OLED Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle – $349.99 (valued at $429.97)
-
PlayStation PS5 Slim Disc Console – $424.99 (savings of $75)
Expect similar bundles this year. These aren’t massive markdowns compared to other stores, but still good deals considering how tight supply can be for gaming gear during the holidays.
Toys
Toys are another major category with big markdowns. In 2024, they had:
-
50% off select toys like Barbie, Hot Wheels, and X-Shot Blasters
-
Buy One, Get One 40% Off Lego Sets
-
Buy One, Get One Free on board games, puzzles, and card games including Monopoly, Jenga, and Uno
-
8” Holiday Squishmallows (including Rudolph) – $9.99 each (down from $19.99)
This is a great time to pick up gifts for kids, especially popular brands and character toys that tend to sell out closer to Christmas.
Clothing and Shoes
Clothing gets some of the highest discounts across the board. Last year’s markdowns included:
-
Bearpaw Boots – 50% off
-
Kensie, MIA, and SMNY boots – 60% off
-
Cold Weather Boots – 50% off
-
Free Country Coats and Jackets – 50% off
-
Carter’s Baby Apparel and Grinch Sleepwear – 60% off
-
Socks and Underwear – 50% off
If you’re looking for winter wear, base layers, or shoes, Black Friday is one of the best days to buy them at Fred Meyer.
Home Goods and Kitchen Deals
You’ll see great prices on small kitchen appliances and seasonal home items too. Some notable examples from last year:
-
Crock-Pot 4.5 Quart Slow Cooker – $9.99 (regular $24.99)
-
Holiday Home 50”x60” Rolled Throw Blankets – $3.99 each
-
Candle-Lite 14 oz Candles – $3 each
-
Buy One, Get One Free on Select Hand Tools
These are ideal for stocking stuffers or if you’re looking to refresh your home for the holidays on a budget.
Apparel and Accessories Bonuses
Fred Meyer also offered some pretty unique extras last year. For example, if you spent a certain amount on Ariat apparel or accessories, you could qualify for a cash-back rebate:
-
$15 back when you spent $150+
-
$100 back when you spent $500+
This is on top of the discounts, and it’s issued as a rebate—not instant savings—so you’ll need to follow up to claim it. Still, it adds up fast if you’re already buying clothing or boots from that brand.
Fuel Point Bonuses
Don’t forget about the gas perks. On Black Friday, you can usually earn 4X Fuel Points on purchases from the Home, Apparel, or Electronics departments if you use a digital coupon from the Fred Meyer app or website.
If you already shop at Fred Meyer for groceries and gas, this is a nice added bonus that brings extra value to your purchases.
