For the last decade or so before COVID-19 hit, it’s been creeping into Thanksgiving day itself with many big retailers opening their doors in the late afternoon when traditionally you would be getting ready to sit down to your family feast. Not only was that forcing you to choose between a good bargain and a life-long family tradition, but also forced millions of minimum wage workers to work on what is arguably the most important holiday in American history.

But things have changed these last few year as many stores returned to being closed on Thanksgiving day itself.

What stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day in 2024?

Here’s a look at all of the retail and outlet stores that were closed on Thanksgiving day itself last year. You can expect these stores to be closed once again this year on Thursday November 28, 2024:
