Black Friday always brings plenty of attention to big box stores and electronics, but grocery chains like Save A Lot also roll out deals that can be just as useful. If you plan to stock up on everyday essentials, or you want to stretch your food budget, then here’s a look at what you can expect to see this year.
Black Froday 2025 Sale Dates & Format
Save A Lot’s Black Friday 2025 sale is expected to begin on Friday, November 28, 2025. Unlike some retailers that launch early sales or extend them through the weekend, Save A Lot has typically kept things simple. In 2024, the Black Friday promotion ran for just one day. It was presented as a single-page ad and limited to in-store shopping only. Once items sold out, they were gone, and there were no online deals to fall back on.
That approach is likely to return this year. So if you’re planning to shop, expect a traditional in-person sale that runs on Black Friday itself, with discounts only available while supplies last.
Typical Discount Levels
Save A Lot’s discounts usually focus on groceries and household basics rather than high-ticket items. Last year’s prices showed markdowns anywhere from 20% to more than 50% off regular pricing. Some fresh items like produce and meat were priced at levels not often seen outside of special promotions. Pantry goods, frozen foods, drinks, and household cleaning products also saw noticeable cuts.
Here are some of the highlights from last year’s event:
-
Ground beef (5 lb roll) for $2.99 per pound
-
Chicken leg quarters for $0.69 per pound
-
Swaggerty’s Pork Back Ribs for $0.79 per pound
-
Crystal Geyser bottled water, 2 for $5
-
